Nucleic Acid Translator 0.6
If you can't see any buttons above this, most likely JAVA isn't enabled in your browser or it's not installed on your system.
If you want to use NAT please make sure your browser is capable of running JAVA applets (Free JAVA Download: English | German).
Nucleic Acid Translator translates a given DNA/RNA sequence into the corresponding amino acid
sequence.
Disclaimer: Though this early version should do the job quite well, i cannot exclude bugs which didn't emerge in the initial tests.
Please keep that in mind and use the applet at your own risk.
Invert button: inverts the DNA/RNA sequence to its reverse complement
Delimiter: a character that separates the single amino acid codes (optional)
1-/3-letter code buttons: determine the output format
-unknown characters (eg. 'N'=nucleotide) in the DNA/RNA sequence are translated into '?' or 'Xxx' respectively (known characters are: 'ATGCU')
-doesn't matter if your DNA/RNA sequence is lower or upper case
-the 1-letter codes 'B' and 'Z' are not used
-STOP-codons are translated into '!' resp. 'Stp'
-no matter how many delimiter characters are given, the program always takes the first character as delimiter
-if the last triplet is shorter than 3 characters, it will not be translated
