The Omega Directive

The former Borg, 7 of 9, used an iso-frequency of 1.68 THz in a containment chamber to stabilize the Omega particles, which are considered as the perfect energy source in the Voyager universe, in a crystal-like structure. Omega is a particle, which is known to exist at the time of the Big Bang, but it can destroy subspace and Warp speed capabilities... see Voyager episode: The Omega Directive.

This page is intended to explain the new THz technologies ;-) used in the Voyager universe. In the last screenshot you find that the Omega particles form a crystal for the first time (molecules were first synthesized in 2274).

7: How many of the molecules were you able to synthesize?

A: Two hundred million...? I'm not certain...

7: What is the iso-frequency of your containment field?

A: 1.68 THz. We used the molecules' own resonance to calculate the field.

7: That should've been enough to stabilize them.

A: Obviously, it wasn't.

7: Obviously. But your approach is innovative... perhaps I can adapt your technique, and improve upon it.

7: Particle 010. The Borg designation for what you call Omega. Every Drone is aware of its existence ... we were instructed to assimilate it at all costs.

7: Precisely. I am no longer Borg... but I still need to understand that perfection. Without it, my existence will never be complete.
