what is it? | |||||
flux_logout is a tiny script that uses a GUI-toolkit to
provide a simple logout-dialog for the windowmanager
FluxBox.
For this purpose the script detects the pid of fluxbox,
opens a question-dialog and sends, if the user confirms, a TERM
signal to fluxbox's pid.
Optionally, a full dialog providing the possibility to reboot/logout may be shown. In order to keep fluxbox terminating correctly, a workaround that terminates problematical processes (like gkrellm2) first can be applied. Quite simple :P |

How does it look like? | |||||
And the answer is: it depends ;)
flux_logout itself doesn't draw a fancy window at all - it just calls a toolkit like 'zenity' for that purpose (which is btw the default one). If you only have one of the other supported toolkits, the logout-dialog will look like they make it to. |

Flux_logout was inspired by an article I found at ikaro.dk which was written by Mathias Gumz. You may want to check out his homepage, too - he wrote a nice and tiny tool called fbcmd. Give it a try :)) | |||||
